Occupational Level 1 Training
This is an 8-hour course accepted by WorkSafe BC. We cover initial assessments, bleeding, choking, rescue breathing, CPR, and the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) machine. This course is geared for adults, and also covers traumatic, medical, and environmental emergencies.
Occupational Level 2 Training
This is a 35-hour course suitable for workplace 20 minutes or less from the hospital.
Occupational Level 3 Training
This is a 70-hour course, with extra practice hours available. In this course, we advance from the workplace level 1 training and move into more of an occupational setting. We train you as an occupational first aid attendant.
This course covers adult first aid skills. It also covers airway breathing and circulation emergencies, as well as in-depth training on spinal injuries and spinal immobilization. It furthers your knowledge of medical, environmental, and minor wound management. We cover oxygen training and principles of immobilization. We also teach initial stabilization of patients, until more advanced care is available.
Transportation Endorsement Training
This 8-hour course covers spinal immobilization and patient packaging. Patient packaging is securing a patient to a spine board for transport. We teach airway, breathing, shock management, and different patient positioning. This is required by WorkSafe BC for any higher risk job site that is further than 20 minutes of land surface travel time from a hospital.
